Evaluation Services

Evaluation services are provided for determining individual vocational objectives, assets, limitations and behaviors in the context of a work environment in which the individual might be best suited.  The evaluation is individually determined based on the person's disability, functional limitations and goals (Evaluation Plan).  The evaluation consists of various psychometric tests, work samples and agency or community based situational assessment.  The evaluation includes a staffing to discuss results as well as a written report listing specific recommendations.

Types of Evaluation

Psychometric Testing - includes a battery of tests to assess general learning ability, functional academics, motor abilities, sensory skills, emotional stability, interests, personality and specific work skills or aptitudes.

Situational Assessment - looks at an individual on one or more jobs.  This can be done at the production facility or in the community.  The purpose is to look at an individual's general work performance, productivity, quality of work, co-workers relations, interaction with supervision, attendance, timeliness, ability to learn a task and ability to follow a routine.

Vocational Evaluation - this is the complete evaluation and includes both psychometric testing and a situational assessment.

Work Adjustment Training - this is an extended situational assessment.  It allows the individual to work for a longer period of time for a more accurate picture of employment potential.

Benefits of Evaluation

  • Obtain objective information for service development.
  • Determine specific skills and needs that an individual may have.
  • Look at an individual's interests for a better match with employment selection.
  • Determine how an individual's personality fits in with employment situations.
  • Assess how an individual's disability may effect employment.
