Day Services
Day Services provides a coordinated program of activities throughout the day. Clients spend their day doing a combination of social, therapeutic and wellness activities. In addition, a registered nurse is on staff to help with medication and provide general care if someone is not feeling well.
Social Activities - interaction with other participants in planned activities appropriate for their abilities.
Personal Care - help with toileting, grooming, eating and other personal activities of daily living.
Wellness Activities - exercise, movement, and mental interaction for all participants.
Community Outings - fishing, bowling, volunteering, etc.
ASPIRO's expansive recreation program offers a wide variety of activities during the day, after hours and on weekends. Activities include fitness classes, individual sports such as golf or bowling and organziaed team games such as basketball, flag football, softball and volleyball. Offerings also include offsite activities such as fishing, swimming, volunteering and weekly outings visiting local points of interest.
The program also offers a choice of DIY art projects, table games, knitting, relaxation and adult education offerings.
SPECIALIZED OFFERINGS:
Assisted Day Services (ADS): Clients are divided into teams based on similar interests. They spend their day doing a combination of social and wellness activities. Each team is led by by two program instructors. ADS is also where there is senior specific programming for individuals with beginning signs of slowing down or for individuals with degenerative medical conditions. For these individuals, porgram activities are geared towards socialization and skill maintenance rather than skill growth.
Art Therapy: Art therapy encourages natural expression at all ability levels. It uses the creative process to help people develop self-awareness, explore emotions and imporive social skills.
Music: Creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music.
